Westboro Baptist Church:
The World's Greatest Publishing Company

"The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Kings of armies did flee apace."
Psalm 68:11,12

"Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God."
Deuteronomy 32:3

"Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken!"
Jeremiah 50:2

"But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations."
Mark 13:9,10

Here is a short dissertation on Truth in Media, first directed on Jan. 21, 2002, to The Kansas City Star, a Knight-Ridder publication, then to The Topeka Capital-Journal, a Morris Communications publication -- and now on Jan. 23, 2002, via the World Wide Web, to all media of the world, with this caveat: You have sold yourselves to promote abominable sodomite evil "before the Lord" just as did Nimrod and "the men of Sodom" before you (Genesis 10:9; 13:3). "Before the Lord" means openly, boldly, brazenly, blasphemously in defiance of God Almighty! This includes a Satanic conspiracy to block out -- suppress, choke, hold down (Romans 1:18) -- the truth of God on the subject of sodomy and sodomites. The theme of the following thesis is that, notwithstanding your multibillion dollar industry, your publishing empire in the aggregate does not approach the size, scope and power of our publishing company: Westboro Baptist Church, The World's Greatest Publishing Company.

As you value your souls, you demon-possessed members of the Fourth Estate should read the following treatise. You are wordsmiths. You understand plain language. You will be held responsible for every word on the Great and Dreadful Day of Judgment and for ever and ever.

Greetings one and all! I hope this writing finds you all in good cheer and good health.

Today's topic is the world's greatest publishing company.

You might suppose, mistakenly, that I mean something like Knight Ridder or Morris Communication. Or your thoughts may go to grander things, like the New York Times Company or Times Newspapers Ltd.

Those publishing companies - and even greater ones from the past - are dime-store-novel-makers compared to the publishing company I'm talking about. I'm speaking of God's publishing company.

Psalms 68:11: "The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it."

See! God has his own publishing company. The word "company" here is the Hebrew word tsaba. It means host, army, soldiers or company. So, as it were, God has a publishing army. Bringing to mind that lovely passage from Song of Solomon 6:4, where Christ speaks to his bride (the church), saying: "Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners."

This publishing company has some attributes that distinguish it from all the other publishing companies that have ever existed. Let's do some compare and contrast to help elucidate the topic.

This company has the interest of angels, because it publishes things the angels desire to look into. "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into." 1 Peter 1:12.

By contrast, human publishing companies pander to what is appealing to the baser side of mankind, and have only transitory and fickle semi-attention from small segments of mankind.

The publishers in this company preach the gospel because of a necessity laid on them, and they claim no glory for themselves. "For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me: yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" 1 Corinthian 9:16.

By contrast, most employees of human publishing companies are competitive, backbiting, glory-hogging individuals, who have to be paid a king's ransom to do their work. They would go to work for the competition on a dime, for the right price. And having their name on the byline is what it's all about.

The message published by this company is foolishness to most of mankind. "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us, which are saved, it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18.

By contrast, the material published by human publishing companies is given great praise and awards by mankind, as it fuels gossipmongers and perverse and depraved instincts. The pervasive disdain mankind has for the truth of God does not apply to the junk and trash that passes off for publications in most publishing companies.

The publishers in this company are prophets to whom the secrets of God are revealed. "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it? Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy? Publish in the palaces." Amos 3:6-9.

By contrast, human publishing companies trade in superstition, uncertainty, fear and half-truths. They fill up their pages with the misguided opinions of trivial tawdry talking heads, leaving their readers exhausted from the effort to sort it all out. And they very rarely have access to any really important secrets. (I mean after all, how many journalists can lay claim to a genuine Deep Throat?)

This publishing company's trademark is the use of banners and tables. "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." Habakkuk 2:2. "Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles." Isaiah 13:2. "We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions." Psalms 20:5. "Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. That thy beloved may be delivered. Psalm 60:4-5(a).

The complicated methods of human publishing companies compound the simple process of publishing a message. The cost forces publishers to cater to certain viewpoints, to capture advertisers and readers. It's all unnecessarily complicated, and not nearly so effective as the classic simplicity of a banner.

This publishing company publishes to the whole world, showing partiality to none. "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15. "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23. "One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill." Isaiah 30:17. "And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region." Acts 13:50. "I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality." 1 Timothy 5:21.

By contrast, human publishing companies are generally limited to a relatively small audience, for a relatively small period of time, subject to the vicissitudes of the human heart. The trademark of human publishing companies is their paltry pusillanimous prejudicial propensities.

This publishing company publishes a message that cannot be ignored. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12.

These publishers have a compelling message, spoken in the pure language of the King (Zephaniah 3:9), that lays the axe to the root of the tree (Luke 3:9), in the words spoken by the holy prophets (2 Peter 3:2), with great plainness of speech (2 Corinthians 3:12), speaking the mystery of Christ through a door of utterance (Colossians 4:3), with words of grace, seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6), warning men everywhere to flee the wrath to come (Matthew 3:7, Luke 3:7).

After the fashion of the women in Israel who published the victories obtained by their armies and generals (1 Samuel 18:7), Christ's ministers are engaged in a good warfare, moving through the earth, in their generations, in an unbroken chain through time, publishing the truth of God. They are enabled in their duty to publish the testimony of Jesus Christ, without compromise or uncertainty, yielding to no one and nothing.

By contrast, human publishing companies scrap among themselves competing for readers, with no certain future, or clear mission and purpose. The headline goes to the most lurid and scandalous bidder, and the focus of the publication must shift with the zeitgeist, forcing the publisher to grovel to the whim and caprice of its readers.

Today, the World's Greatest Publishing Company flies under the banner of Westboro Baptist Church. It is a sight to behold, just as the scriptures promise. An army of publishers, vouchsafed with gifts from God enabling their work, with doors of utterances opening before them, with the whole world alert, attentive, and unable to turn away. That, my friends, is a publishing company worthy of the name!

Thank you.
