Re: Interstate Church Bombing of Aug. 20

Dear Friends:

First, Mr. Kelly Stratton, whose name we gave you earlier as a possible Aug. 20 bomb suspect because he has threatened us in the past, made another bomb threat against us on Aug. 25 at about 1:20 p.m. at 7th & Quincy. The police were nearby and removed Stratton and a fellow terrorist from our immediate presence. TPD Officer Doug Ping took a rather full report (No. 27054-95) and said TPD detectives would follow up. We understand Stratton's wife Sherri works for District Attorney Joan Hamilton.

Second, Chief Beavers said yesterday at 29th & Fairlawn about 2:20 p.m. that he has assigned TPD Det. Sgt. John Sams to work with the Fire Dept. and BATF investigating the Aug. 20 bombing. We have asked Chief Beavers to immediately remove Sams, because Sams has repeatedly demonstrated a deep-seated personal animosity toward us which in the past has rendered him incapable of maintaining any semblance of objectivity and professionalism toward us, and Beavers knows that this matter is thoroughly documented. We warn you: Do not let Sams anywhere near this case. Thank you.
